What is this guy thinking?!?

Okay. So I met this guy in February, and we hung out a LOT until abouttt... June. I mean, basically every weekend. We were basically dating, it was never spoken, but everyone knew we were "together" and we'd go on dates. We had in... May? I think? But it was, awkwardly enough, only one time. He then had to go to two summer trips in like, three weeks, and we lost a good bit of touch in June because of that. When he came back, we didn't speak very much. Then my ex and I decided to get back together. Well, now we're hanging out again (he's regained touch with me) and he's invited me to a frat formal in the next few weeks. When asked why it never worked out between us(I asked him in August), he said that he "didn't have enough time to commit to a serious relationship", but now, he seems damned well eager to try. Does he like me? Or am I fooling myself?
