Why do many nurses tend to be extremely rude to other hospital workers?

the fact of the matter is they do get paid better than most other hospital employees that are not doctors, managers, presidents and that sort. i too have noticed how rude and inconsiderate most but not all nurses can be. i have worked in a hospital too and was treated badly, as most others are. most of the time i found that they also like to talk about their patients in cruel ways to their fellow nurses. i honestly feel that they act this way because of the stress of the job and also because they know that they can. nurses are in shortage now, and hospitals can't afford to lose them.
