Major lack of concerts and events in Northern Ireland..?

I'm 16 and it's a real pain that, to me, when it comes to concerts and events that Belfast and other places in Northern Ireland are usually left out. It's mainly the really big acts that come here but if I wanna go to a concert that is the music I like (rock) then my only choices are to travel overseas or all the way to Dublin. Frankly, I'm too young and cheap to do that.
